Balham Park

The owners of this beautiful double fronted property were renovating the exterior and adding a portico so they contacted us to improve the rest of the front garden. The brief: to create a low maintenance, smart entrance that complimented the house/street and included parking and a bespoke bin store.

The garden was previously full of awkward lumps and bumps which were levelled off, providing a lovely flat surface to work with. The surrounding walls and piers were rebuilt to include a distinctive red strip to match the house and finished off with Portland stone. Concrete square pavers were replaced with hardwearing, light coloured granite slabs and setts.

An impressive mosaic path flanked with low maintenance planting leads to the front door, which is painted to match the blue tiles. The existing hedges were kept and extended to provide more uniformity. Unsightly bins are now hidden away in a bespoke triple bin store and an elegant cast iron gate and bespoke railings provide the finishing touches to what is now a very grand entrance to this Victorian property.
