This postage stamp courtyard garden was dark, unused and a little bit sad. The clients wanted a multi-functional space that remained a pleasant view from the kitchen throughout the year. A garden that could be used both day and night for down time and entertaining and included plenty of storage and greenery…so not much then. We are working on this project in stages, the first of which was to turn a very unattractive back wall into an outdoor fireplace and raised beds that double as a (very efficient we are told) BBQ. This immediately transforms the garden and gives them the backdrop they sorely needed. We added a curved border and planted apple crates that can be moved around depending on the occasion. Very much a work in progress we will update when the next stage is finished.
